Amazon.ae and Noon are the two largest ecommerce platforms in the UAE, together reaching tens of millions of shoppers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. For any brand or manufacturer looking to enter the UAE market, getting listed on these platforms is the fastest way to reach consumers without building your own distribution network from zero.
But listing on Amazon.ae or Noon as a brand or manufacturer is not as simple as uploading a product and setting a price. There are compliance requirements, documentation hurdles, and platform-specific rules that catch most new brands off guard. This guide walks through both routes — selling directly and working through a UAE reseller — so you can choose the path that suits your situation.
Two Routes to Getting Your Products on Amazon UAE and Noon
Route 1: Register as a Seller and Sell Directly
Both Amazon.ae and Noon allow international brands and manufacturers to register as sellers and list products themselves. This gives you full control over pricing, content, and how your brand appears on the platform. However, it requires:
- A UAE trade license (or in some cases a business entity in an Amazon-approved country)
- A UAE bank account for receiving payouts
- Full compliance documentation for every product you list in the UAE
- Local logistics — either using Amazon FBA / Noon NFS warehouses or your own UAE 3PL
This route works well for brands that are serious about the UAE as a long-term market and are willing to invest in local entity setup and inventory management.
Route 2: Work Through an Authorized UAE Reseller
The second route — and the faster one for most international brands — is to supply your products to a UAE-based wholesale buyer or authorized reseller who then lists and sells on Amazon.ae and Noon on your behalf. You supply the inventory, the reseller handles all local compliance, listing creation, platform fees, logistics, and customer service.
This route requires no UAE trade license, no local bank account, and no platform registration on your end. The tradeoff is that you give up some margin and some control over how your brand is presented. Choosing a reseller who understands brand standards and marketplace SEO matters significantly here.
WholesaleGulf works with suppliers in this model — we purchase wholesale, list on Amazon.ae and Noon under our seller accounts, and manage the entire UAE ecommerce operation for the brands we carry.
UAE Compliance: What Your Products Need Before They Can Be Listed
This is where most international brands stall. Both Amazon.ae and Noon are required to comply with UAE regulations, and neither platform will allow a product to be listed — or will remove it — if it lacks the required documentation. Compliance requirements vary by category:
Personal Care and Cosmetics
All cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and personal hygiene products sold in the UAE must be registered with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP). Registration is per product and per formulation — a CE mark, FDA clearance, or approval from your home country authority does not transfer. Registration typically takes 4 to 8 weeks and costs between AED 500 and AED 2,000 per product. Without MOHAP registration, your products cannot legally be sold in UAE retail or on UAE ecommerce platforms.
Electronics and Electrical Products
Electronics must carry an ESMA (Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology) certification. This applies to phones, chargers, power banks, cables, and any product that connects to a power source. The process involves lab testing and conformity assessment, typically taking 6 to 12 weeks.
Baby and Children's Products
Products intended for children are subject to UAE safety standards under ESMA. Toys, feeding accessories, and baby care items must meet specific conformity requirements. Amazon.ae's baby category is gated and requires supplier invoices and documentation as part of the approval process.
Food and Dietary Supplements
Food products require approval from the Dubai Municipality Food Safety Department. Dietary supplements face additional scrutiny and require registration with MOHAP. This is the most complex category for international brands entering the UAE market.
All Categories: Labeling Requirements
Regardless of category, all products sold in the UAE must have labels that include: country of origin, product name in Arabic and English, manufacturer name and address, ingredients or materials, and — where relevant — expiry date. Labels must use standard GS1 barcodes. If your current packaging does not meet these requirements, you will need to either reprint labels or apply compliant stickers before products can be shipped to Amazon or Noon warehouses.
Amazon UAE: Selling Directly as a Brand
Amazon.ae seller registration for international brands operates through Amazon's Global Selling program. Approved countries can register without a UAE trade license. The registration process requires:
- Business registration documents from your home country
- A valid internationally-issued credit or debit card
- A bank account that receives international wire transfers
- A phone number and email address for account verification
Once registered, you can list products on Amazon.ae and choose to use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). With FBA, you ship inventory to Amazon's UAE warehouse in bulk, and Amazon handles all storage, packing, and delivery. FBA is strongly recommended for international brands — it gives listings a Prime badge, which significantly improves conversion rates and search ranking on the platform.
Amazon Brand Registry UAE
If you own a registered trademark, enrolling in Amazon Brand Registry gives you enhanced control over your product listings, access to A+ content (enhanced product pages with images and comparison tables), and tools to report and remove unauthorized sellers. Brand Registry requires a registered trademark in the UAE or a country covered by the IP Accelerator program.
Noon UAE: Selling Directly as a Brand
Noon seller registration requires a UAE trade license, which means international brands without a UAE entity must either establish one or work through a UAE reseller. Free zone entities are accepted. The registration is done through the Noon Seller Lab portal and requires:
- Valid UAE trade license (DED mainland or free zone)
- VAT registration certificate (TRN)
- Emirates ID of the business owner or authorized signatory
- UAE bank account in the business name
- Brand authorization letter for branded products
Noon's fulfillment service (NFS) works similarly to Amazon FBA. Stock is sent to Noon's Dubai warehouse, and Noon handles storage, packing, and delivery. NFS-listed products receive the Noon Express badge, which is equivalent to Prime and similarly improves conversion rates and ranking.
Listing Quality: What Separates Brands That Sell from Those That Don't
On both Amazon.ae and Noon, listing quality is a significant driver of conversion. UAE shoppers are brand-aware and visually led — poor product photography or thin descriptions lead to high bounce rates even for good products. When creating listings:
- Photography: Use a clean white background for the main image (required by both platforms). Include lifestyle shots and infographic images that highlight key features. Minimum image resolution is 1000 x 1000 pixels.
- Title: Follow platform-specific title formats. Include the brand name, product type, key specification (size, quantity, color), and a relevant keyword. Avoid keyword stuffing — Amazon and Noon's algorithms penalize it.
- Arabic translation: Both platforms serve a bilingual audience. Listings with Arabic titles and descriptions convert significantly better than English-only listings on Noon. On Amazon.ae, Arabic is less dominant but still valuable for search discoverability.
- Bullet points and description: Focus on benefits, not just specifications. What problem does the product solve? Why does it suit the UAE climate, lifestyle, or consumer? Practical answers to these questions outperform generic feature lists.
The Faster Path for Most International Brands
For brands that are testing the UAE market before committing to a local entity, working through a UAE reseller is the practical starting point. You supply the inventory (ideally from a UAE-based stock or a Dubai free zone warehouse), the reseller manages listings, compliance documentation, platform operations, and customer service. Once you have proof that your products sell and at what velocity, building your own seller account becomes a much lower-risk investment.
